We met Dr.Dheeraj Shyam at Aster Hospital Whitefield in Bangalore. My father is a CKD patient with an AV Fistula. Very recently it was noticed that the thrill in the AV Fistula has gone down. When Dr. Dheeraj initially examined the AVF under Doppler scan, there were no concerns observed. But when we had gone for a follow up the doctor observed clots in AVF blocking the blood flow. When I enquired the doctor about it he patiently explained the root cause and explained how arteries and veins work and what are the possible causes for the issues in layman terms. He also insisted the importance of going for the venoplasty procedure asap as the AVF is in a salvagable state. Otherwise the AVF will degrade over a period of time if there are persistent clots. So we agreed for the procedure within a couple of days after it was diagnosed. Doctor also advised to go for Pre anaesthetic counselling before the day of procedure, which we consulted.

We went to the hospital around 8.30 AM in the morning on the day of procedure. Blood tests, echo etc. were done as my father has both kidney and cardio issues. Anaesthetic team of doctors also explained how anaesthesia would be given.After that my father was taken to the procedure room (cath lab) and it took around 1.5 hours to complete the procedure. After the procedure, doctor came and conveyed the.surgery went as planned and showed the video recording of how the blood flow within AVF region before and after plasty. We were also able to feel the thrill near AVF region after the surgery. After the procedure doctor actively followed up with visits to the ward and also enquired the status on WhatsApp after he was discharged. I would like to thank the doctor for explaining the issues and how procedure will be done, the risk level etc. that gave us full confidence to go for the procedure

I was really worried about the cyst ( breast) which was diagnosed recently in ultrasound. So my gynecologist (dr vishnu priya) referred me to Dr dheeraj for further support and management .

Dr dheeraj is a simple, friendly , approachable and superb human being. He is an excellent doctor with human values. His team members were also really excellent in making us comfortable. I entered the facility with lot of quieries and stress .. but i left the facility after the treatment with a smiling and confident face ( as per my mother☺️)

I have consulted Dr. Dheeraj for pain and swollen veins in lower left leg. Doctor immediately diagnosed my issue as varicose veins and explained all the possible treatment options feasible for my budget. Dr. Dheeraj had spearheaded the CT Guided Biopsy in our case. This was a bit of complicated procedure, where a mass(flesh) had to be collected from the middle of the pelvic region for investigating the source of the disease; without causing too much discomfort to the patient. When Dr. Dheeraj was recommended and we met him , we weren’t sure of the outcome because 2-3 renowned hospitals of Bengaluru didn’t even suggest this as a technique and we were having a difficult time is diagnosing the source of the disease. The procedure required a seasoned professional with attention to detail. Thankfully, Dr. Dheeraj, I must say patiently made us understand the procedure and its outcomes. Post the procedure and we had the mass for biopsy; the patient as well didn’t suffer too much discomfort. The treatment was started the next day as we had the source of disease due to Dr.Dheeraj’s expertise. Would highly recommend.

My mother was diagnosed with hilar cholangiocarcinoma few days back .

She underwent PTBD with biliary stenting under Dr dheeraj .

Her bilirubin levels came down from 16 to 1.5 .

Consulted Doctor Dheeraj for swelling in thyroid my wife had . Based on the test results , doctor explained very well on what the results imply and recommended a radio frequency ablation procedure. Varshini - his coordinator in the hospital was very proactive in communicating the plans of the procedure and followed up well to ensure that we don't face any delays in the admission procedure.
